When i was at school there were so many stories of how a famous boxer had got brain damage and how it was a sport to avoid.
Thinking back now im sure that it was because he was injured in a certain way and refused to give up the sport he loved.
Im no medical advisor but im sure they wouldnt let kids do this sport if the risks were that bad and also it wouldnt be an olympic sport.
i think the brain damage stories we hear are the extreme worst cases and of course they will hit the news.
I dont think you have anything to worry about imo.
