You can do kickboxing for 20 minutes and be more tired than if you ran for 1 hour.

This is from last week, I started back at my old kickboxing club after a couple of years out of training completly, before the actual lesson, I went to the gym, I spent 2 hours doing cardio, and a few weights/resistance training, I then rested for an hour or so before heading to the kickboxing session.
After the first 20 minutes or so, I was beat, I know that this was becasue I'm out of shape, but how can a guy do 2 hours of gym, without needing any real respite, and only 20 minutes of kickboxing before you feel like you are going to fall apart at the seams ?
Either way, kickboxing is a great sport, and an even better work out.
