Default Cleaning Gloves

i had a friend ask me about how to clean boxing gloves. i just use the spray stuff that is for spraying down the equipment. failing that a mild disinfectant spray like a diluted bleach combo. do you guys have any other ideas? and i have no idea how to keep the insides of the gloves from getting all funky. any ideas? i keep them aired out, but other than that no idea.

You know about as much as I do. Keep them aired out, spray with some sort of disinfecting spray, that's about all you can do.

Here's what I got from a Muay Thai glove site:

Gloves Maintenance
After each use of gloves there usually are sweat inside the gloves. These wetness can be a sweet home for fungus which cause bad smell odor.

The best way to keep your gloves clean is to dry them properly after each of use. Then you should spray inside your gloves with a gloves deodorant spray which help you eliminate the fungus and prolong the life of your boxing gloves.

All the gloves I have ever worn were either MMA style or they were funky. That smell reminds me of some good times and good fights.

lol.... after you have aired and disinfected them, sprinkle some baby powder in them... it helps absorb, moisture, and control odor.... sounds kinda funny, but it works!

Doesn't sound odd at all. In fact, that's the precise purpose for baby powder. A lot of people just use talc (which is baby powder, just doesn't have the scent to it).
Another possibility, if your gloves really smell (and you don't want them to) is to store them with a sachet of activated charcoal. You can get the stuff from the aquarium sections of pet stores. It's used as filtration in fish tanks. The same properties that make it useful in filtration also make it useful for odor absorption.

wow SDS, fantastic advise... and you can't find a manlier option than charcoal for odor protection.
