Default Boxing or KickBoxing?

i myself prefer kickboxing to boxing. personally, i think it takes more control and skill to be a kickboxer. not saying that boxing doesnt require skill, but kickboxing, i think, would require a more fit person

I have done a little boxing, and quite alot of kickboxing, and while the sports are very similar, they both push your body in different ways, for example, could you imagine mike tyson doing inner and outer cresent kicks, one after another for ? of an hour ?
But kickboxers do stand an work out their upper body in a very similar way to boxers. If I had to choose I would choose kickboxing everytime. Its a great sport.

Boxing is not a sport i like.
I grew up with frank brunu and people of that generation on the television and it wasnt something i was vey keen on.

Kickboxing shows respect and tolerance and teaches about discipline.
Boxing for me just show aggression and i dont see it as a sport.

Its strange i guess, I think I'm from more or less the same generation as you blue, I remember Frank on the TV too when I was young. Personaly I think that for allot of people Mike Tyson is the man that killed boxing with his overly violent aproach to the sport, biting peoples ears off, and with his time spent in prison for other violent crimes.
Ok, its a full contact sport, but that dosn't mean that you should climb into the ring with murder in mind.
Kick boxing, in the uk at the very least is a Semi contact sport, with very stringent rules and regulations. I just hope that no one like Mike Tyson rises to fame in the kick boxing circuit.

The people that get in with the mindset of hurting the other guy, they are the ones who give the sport a bad name.

Theres a fine line between wanting to win and wanting to hurt - its the latter that turns people off these sports.

Well, for kickboxing, at least here in the UK the competitions are semi contact, so for those that want to just hurt people, they will never come to much in this sport.

Thats a good point stigs, no one like Mike Tyson could rise to fame in the UK circuit because of the semi contact rule set.
Is it the same over in the US ?

I may watch boxing on tv but I have really been interested in training in it. I have done kickboxing in the past and enjoyed. It was a total body workout for me and I enjoyed doing more than just punching.

I have always loved boxing ever since I was a kid. I started training and have enjoyed it. I don't do anything professionally but will do some local charity things. I do kick boxing occasionally but prefer boxing.
