Default Flat Abs with Kick Boxing

I have read that with Kick boxing women can like transfer where whole body!! It is a good cardio resource and it also gets everything in your body going! Without extremely strong core muscles -- the muscles of the torso, abdominals, and lower back -- it's virtually impossible to perform well in the kickboxing ring. In fact, without strong abs you will never get your leg up for the kicks. That is why kick boxing is so good...it gets your AB's hard!!

i agree, a lot of your "power" comes from your center and abdomen. its always good to be in shape, but knowing your sport inside and out will help you train better and train in the right areas

and normally if you have a weak core you will have a weak work out....everything derives from your core!

I'm not sure about my Core, or where I can buy one from But I do know that kickboxing is the most work out I ever had. With my trainer it was non stop, an excelent time, and really helped me to shape up.

Its nuts. People think its easy stuff - but to me this sport is way more strenuous than ANY other sport I've ever done - even running etc.

You can do kickboxing for 20 minutes and be more tired than if you ran for 1 hour.

This is from last week, I started back at my old kickboxing club after a couple of years out of training completly, before the actual lesson, I went to the gym, I spent 2 hours doing cardio, and a few weights/resistance training, I then rested for an hour or so before heading to the kickboxing session.

After the first 20 minutes or so, I was beat, I know that this was becasue I'm out of shape, but how can a guy do 2 hours of gym, without needing any real respite, and only 20 minutes of kickboxing before you feel like you are going to fall apart at the seams ?

Either way, kickboxing is a great sport, and an even better work out.

I think that a really good workout at the gym could be far more beneficial that an hours kick boxing.
But I guess it depends on wether you continue it at home, alot of the more dedicated kickboxers, train every day wether they are at a class or not.

Well, I would say that unless you have tried kickboxing, dont go presuming that the gym will be a better work out.
Kick boxing is really full on, and is a full body workout.
But you should probably do a mixture of them both, a session of KB on day and gym a couple of days later, and just mix it up like that.

I goto the gym 3 times a week, and do 2 ? hours a time, that keeps me nicely in shape, and up untill recently did kick boxing too.
I gave up kick boxing asI dont wish to stop going to the gym, I have alot of friends that I get together with at my gym. In my opinion kickboxing and the gym together is way too much for the average person. But both on there own are more than adequate to get yourself fit.

I dont htink i could do anything as althletic as this, I had no idea that kick boxing was such hard work. Perhaps in the furture I could do this, but I think For now, its one that is perhaps a little too much for me.
