Default Does anyone do Tai Chi?

I was searching on google and found some info on Tai Chi. From what I can gather it is like yoga and mediation all combined into one form. Has anyone tried it before?

Yes I do Tai Chi when I have time. It is very relaxing. Actually you would be surprised at just how well you can clear your mind while you are doing it. It is a great way to start off your day.

No I haven't done it before. I have been looking into it lately and was thinking about purchasing some dvds. I have heard that is it a great way to get in tuned with your mind and body.

Default Tai-Chi

I do a tai-chi form every morning and I find it centres me for the rest of the day. Very good at focusing yourself and your breathing. I have had asthma since birth and since studying tai-chi, Aikido and other disciplines associated with breathing, my Asthma has ceased being a problem. I control it, it doesn't control me.

good tip, i have asthma as well. i never thought of that. i have used the breathing techniques that i learnt in hapkido, but tai chi would be even better.

especially when you are having a horrible asthma attack and stuck in a wait line at the emerg

I find it to be a very good add on to my current meditation, and kata's.... There are so many aspects to it, and it has some very complex movements... especially when you get into the sword forms.... I would recommend it to anyone... I would suggest going, and taking actual classes at first..... just to get the forms, and movements down, before you move to video instruction.

I was considering Tai Chi myself. Thanks for the input. I will look into it further.

I have done T'ai Chi in the past, but didn't make a habit of it.
I should get back into it and learn a bit more, though.

To me, this is like saying that there's one source that can teach all there is to know about the "real" karate, or the "real" kenjutsu, or kung fu, or nearly any other art. Nearly every art has split into several legitimate styles.
