Koutaishi is new to the dojo
Default Wing Chun, Kung Fu, Tai Chi

Alright, I have a basic idea of some of the differences, but what are the differences between these arts?
(Please include other Chinese arts as you know about them, too)

wing chun is a type of kung fu isn't it? Tai chi is very internal and concentrates on slower movements, but perfection in those movements. whereas kung fu is more of a striking art. it concentrates more on causing damage with speed and power. wing chung, i believe, is a style of kung fu that emphasizes the centre and internal power. i think they concentrate on controlling energy more than relying on brute strength.........

i think this is right anyway.

Wing Chun is a kung fu system that emphasis close-quater fighting, protection of your "centre-line" using trapping, punching, chops, palm strikes, low kicks and also forms. It trains with weapons such as the butterfly knives and staff and also trains with the "wooden dummy". Tai Chi is an internal art that uses slow movements to build up "chi" which is your body's energy and move it around your body through energy channels or meridans to promote well-being. It also has combat applications too.
