Well, if you've ruled out training and working hard as an option, that leaves you with this:

Dieting is one of those things that doesn't work. If you wanna loose weight really fast for maybe a week, and then gain it back, sure.

The only sure fire way to loose weight is to change your eating habits. It won't be fast, and you won't notice it right away, but subbing in a bag of chips for an apple once in a while can really make a difference. If you're consistant with the change, you'll loose weight eventually.

Of course, not eating at all doesn't work, it just leads to another much less appealing problem.

Wrong.
You can lose the weight on any diet like that. The ultimate key is to use more calories than you consume. Period. You can eat less, exercise more or both. Both will work.

To keep the weight off, you HAVE TO ALTER THE HABITS.

Well, that was certainly positive.

"You can lose the weight on any diet like that. The ultimate key is to use more calories than you consume."

I'm gonna stop right there. When dieting, the body starts storing fat, so even if you start trying to 'burn more calories' than you're ingesting, it won't guarantee a weight loss. You can't look inside your body and find out how many calories you're using up anyway! All you can do is guess.

"Period. You can eat less, exercise more or both. Both will work. To keep the weight off, you HAVE TO ALTER THE HABITS."

Altering the habits is what I pointed out at the end of my last post, so we're in agreement there. Eating less does not guarantee weight loss though. What kinds of foods you eat and your lifestyle are key points to keep in mind.

That low carb craze drove me nuts. I don't believe in dieting. I believe in eating and living healthy. We all agree on altering habits.

I'll say one good thing about low carb. If you're restricting calories, one way to drive yourself nuts is with sugar cravings. A lot of low-fat foods are packed with sugar and carbs. However, focusing on eating small amounts of healthy fats and more proteins is a good way to lose weight in the long term.
