Default Avocados

Avocados are one of my new favorite foods. When you're trying to eat healthy, they definitely seem like a treat with their creamy texture and rich taste. They're also a good way to get in some healthy fats. Other than guacamole, anyone have some good recipes?

I love putting slices of avocado on sandwiches. They're good on anything or even alone.

One thing I discovered, as I tried to emulate avocado sushi: avocados are delicious with just a touch of soy sauce drizzled over them. Plenty of healthy fats without added processed foods!

you can use avocados in a lot of sushi recipies....

avocado roll (sushi rice, nori, and avocado)
california roll (crab (usually imatation crab meat), japanese mayo, cucumber, avocado, s. rice, nori)
dynamite roll (tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado, s. rice, nori)

(i use to work at a japanese resturant) the other thing that they made, which was not on the menu is a drink we called avocado ice. it is a blended drink of avocado, ice, evaporated milk, and a bit of sugar.

I have always like avocado rolls and california rolls, but I actually didn't start to like guacamole until recently. I really love the texture of avocados though.

i don't really like avocado... i find it too mushy and it is a little too sweet for me. that is why i do like the avocado ice, it is more of a desert. i want to make an effort to add it into my diet more..... but my birds like to eat the food i eat too, and avocados are poisonous to my birds, so i am not in a big hurry.

I like avocado on burritto's and some mexican tortas, they add a nice flavor and extra something different in flavor.

All of this talk about avocadoes makes me think about Mexican food, which makes me really want a burrito right now. I'm thinking about going out and getting some.

Mexican food tastes great, but is often pretty unhealthy (at least the Americanized version). So many carbs, so much cheese... mmm. Burritos.

True, it's usually very unhealthy. I don't really follow a diet, but I try to eat as healthy as possible most of the time. I really can't turn down a burrito though.
