Default Best Cardio Exercises

If you are going to do cardio for just 30 minutes these are some of the top performing workouts:

1. Step Aerobics - Many women prefer this workout. Step Aerobics mainly target your legs, hips and glutes, and can burn approx. Burn around 400 calories in just 30 minutes!

2. Bicycling - This is a personal favorite of mine. You can accoplish yoru goals either on a stationary bike or riding a real bike outdoors. Depending on resistance and speed you can burn between 250 to 500 calories in only 30 minutes.

3. Swimming - A great all-around workout for anyone! wimming is a great cross-training for other cardio activities. Calories burned varies depending on your swimming style - for breaststroke the average is 400 calories burned in 30 minutes.

5. Running - Running is an excellent cardio workout and is easy to do as there is no equipment needed other than some running shoes. You can easily burn over 300 calories in just 30 minutes.

These are some of my favorites - what do you enjoy doing for your cardio workout?

Those are some good ones....Here are some of my personal favorites.

1) Running - as you said - this is an easy one that anyone can do & it burns calories well

2) Elliptical Trainer - I like this as it is a cardio workout that helps also increase endurance

3) Rowing - this is great for cardio as well as working out yoru arms - I row about once every 2 weeks.

Those are all great ways to get some cardio in. I personally enjoy swimming and bicycling. I love to use the vr bikes at the gym. The resistance it adds when going up a simulated hill is great.

I run and do the stair climber, but the absolute best cardio exercise in my opinion is jumping rope, it burns tons of calories and helps a lot with footwork as well

I agree with the running. A fast paced walk is a good cardio workout also.
Sometimes running can be hard on the joints, so fast walking works good here.

I have a lot of problems with my knees, so I use water for my workouts. I swim, and do water walking and workouts. Try running up and down the lap lanes and see how quick you tire out without killing your joints.

Swimming is always good, and it works parts of the body you dont use in your day to day.... and yes much better on the joints.... I also recomend adding 30 second sprints to your run, every 10 or 15 min, it will help spike the heart rate.

i cannot believe that no one said jumping rope! am i the only one forced to do this all the time?? poor Bruce Lee is turning over in his grave (he really recommended skipping.... he said that it is a better work out than running and it keep you light on your feet for sparring)
