Default an important part of your health and fitness....

diet.

i used to overlook this, well, i just didnt take it as seriously as i should have. what you eat, and how you eat is an integral part of your health and fitness. a good diet should always run parallel with any martial arts training. without proper diet, i feel like my true potential would never be reached.

any thoughts?

Eating healthy foods will always be a major factor when you are trying to stay in shape. And eating properally while doing sport will also be the best wayto keep your body in shape. Those that try to do a sport but then after are stright down to the take away just dont realise what they are doing to there bodies.
Aswell as body though theres excerciswe on the mind thats needed also.

Its vital. Food is the single most important part of your health.

I dont care if you look like he-man, if you dont eat right then your health and energy levels will suffer.

I have been needing and wanting to become more healthy and treat my body right. Are there any websites or other resources I can check and read about a good, balanced diet, and anything else I can be doing during my training?

And most likely you won't look like he-man, most people who eat crap end up looking like crap. You absolutely can't sustain any decent level of fitness without proper diet

I agree. Your body needs the proper "fuel" to be in good condition. Eating empty calories (junk food) does nothing but add things that your body does not need.
Eating lots of whole foods and raw foods is good. Lots of fruits and veggies, brown rice, good proteins and limit the fats.

When I started thinking of my body as an engine & food as the fuel, I started to be more careful about what I ate.
