I think I know the hidden thruth here....
Rock music doesnt motivate, but the music uses what are known as power chords, these are basically notes played along with its respective octave... (one scale higher) What this does is makes you feel like you are full of energy that needs to escape somehow. As for the techno, this is different again, the fast drumbeats make you want to move around faster, trying to keep up with the beat. Basically each tackles the same thing in a different way, but the result is the same, you feel like you are ontop of the highest mountain ever, stronger than you ever have been, and able to do anything. Its all psycological, but for an example, what an action movie, and listion to the music as you reach the end of a fight scene, and allso take note of how it makes you feel. |

I like to do tai-chi or similar chi-kung exercises to slow tai-chi-type music. Japanese pipe music is also relaxing and execellent for forms as well

Our dojo plays everything from taiko (the huge Japanese drums) and shakuhachi (Japanese flute) to Rush and Disturbed.
I have iTunes (I used to buy a lot of albums for just one song. iTunes ended up being a great thing to have. I have a thousand or so songs that cost me a dollar apiece. If I had purchased the albums, I'd be broke and the bank would have my house). I looked up the CDs listed. Not my cup of tea. They were decent, but I prefer my dance music to either be bubblegum (Aqua and Lene are some of my favorites) or goth (Cruxshadows, Carfax Abbey). When I'm working out on my own, I like listening to happy hardcore (a type of electronic rave music), metal, Dragonforce (they deserve their own designation), European metal (bands like Nightwish and Sirenia, which have a distinct fantasy aspect to their music), and J-Pop.

my friend uses i tunes as well... i don't see the point. i prefer to get my music the less than legal way. here in canada it is not a big deal and i already had to pay taxes on my burner and blank disks, so why not take advantage?
my muay thai place will play music. generally what ever music the instructor likes. i have seen that some classes they play traditional thai music, but i do not think that often because i have had a class with thai music.
