Question Certain Sports for certain people?

Does martial Arts suit everyone? Or are there certain people with certain medical conditions for example that cant take part? Or are there certain ones certain people can and cant take part in?
Or can everyone take part in any?

Hope you dont mind all the questions

Id guess there are cetain aspects of martial arts some people cant do, for example if you had a heart condition you wouldnt want to be doing to more active , more contact arts. |But a slower paced art would suit you alot better.
im not medical experts or expert on all the different types of martial arts though so you would have to ask more people here or ask a professional.

I think id be best checking with a doctor before starting some sports, I think its the same before you start anything new.
Always best to check rather than do something your body would disagree with.
Thankyou for your opinion though.

i agree, it would be the person's, with the condition, responsibility to research and speak with their doctor

any sport is like this, in school, the kids need a recent physical before doing anything, i dont see why any of the ma would be any different

Its not really different than any others sports.

When you think about it, something like football or hockey would be alot more dangerous.

It suits anyone. Female, male, big, small and we have even seen disabled people take part.

That is the beauty of this sport - its an art more than a sport and therefore it is suited to EVERYONE!

I agree that martial arts as a whole can suit anyone, there are so many diverse disciplines that anyone can find one that is perfect for them regardless of age gender or fitness level

I agree with consulting your doctor first. It really does depend on the person and the disability. I teach a TKD class for developmentally disable persons. What is important is that the student is giving his/her best.
Some people will benefit from a different martial art, Tai Chi for example may be better for someone. I think it really does depend on the person and their abilites.

There's something for just about everyone. My son is paralyzed below the waist, & he's just starting to practice tai chi.
