that is a tuff question!! honestly i am so torn on the issue i do not know what to say. i think that it might just be a term for all the strength that our body has that we don't fully understand yet..... if that makes sense.

i don't think that it is anything mystical though.

I've seen and felt CHI results lots of time and it still amazes me. Studying Aikido and other internal arts has opened my mind to its concept and some of the things that are possible are truly mind-blowing. If you are able to check out aikido or any internal arts for yourself then I would highly recommend it.

I definitely believe in chi, though, as I've said before, I am skeptical of anyone who claims to be able to manipulate it.
At its core, I think that this is the true source of our strength, what we can draw on even when we should have collapsed from exhaustion.

yea i'm skeptical of anyone who claims to be able to manipulate it also. i would never know unless i was close enough to be able to feel them out. and many people have the completely wrong idea of it and mistake it for many different things which makes it even more difficult to understand. but i have no doubts that it's real. the feeling is quite unlike anything else once you feel someone's chi.

the most prominent experience i've had was when i was younger, with my dad. he was projecting his chi out from his hands and i could feel it from at least 2-3 feet away. sort of a warm sensation, but not just warmth... it's a feeling i don't know how to quite describe but i know what it feels like.

We used to do a similar exercise at training where everyone would focus on their breathing to raise their chi levels. We would then turn out the lights and place a student in the middle of the room and took turns slowly approaching him from various sides to see whether he could "detect" us either by feeling a warmth, tingling, a cold sensation or any other feeling. My personal sensation with a kind of magnetic warmth. I could feel it at various places on my body so I would point in those directions and invariably find a student slowly advancing towards me.

when i was younger i saw a therapist that did some thing similar. it was called something like boundary theory.... i closed my eyes and she walked towards me and i told her when to stop because i could feel her in my space. we did that several times to discover where my energy boundries are. it turns out that i feel intruded upon if anyone is within about 2 meters. the concept was the same as the one you described above, it is just weird because mine was so big. she said that might be why i like to be alone. if i am around people they are likely to be within my personal energy and their energy would affect mine, and they might actually absorb my energy.

i still do not know if i believe it or not, but i did "feel" it.
