Default Suprised.

I am very suprised that this area has no messages. I have seen so many people get hurt over the years. From training, lifting, sparring and over large ego's.

I think one of the most overlooked methods for gaining muscle and health is massage. This is only by the little guys though. Every large team and famous jock has or is getting a massage therapist on their team.

Getting a good massage to work the stiffness and toxins out of you after a hard workout is just awesome.

I love a good massage. I rarely find one that can get in deep enough though.
Should I be looking for a particular type of masage?

Just trying to find a masseuse who is prepared to see me half-naked

Chances are, they've seen worse.
I understand, though, that it's difficult to get over your own self consciousness. If it makes you feel any better, I'm probably only five or ten pounds overweight, and I'm self conscious about getting a massage.
I've been doing some research into shiatsu, and whether or not you believe in chi, it seems that it is an effective method of helping minor injuries, even stuff that modern medicine is at a loss for.

I am a firm believer in chi, so I will be giving shiatsu a go then. Cheers

It'll also be a good "in-between" for regular massage, as shiatsu does not require the removal of any clothes, just that the recipient wear comfortable clothes. It will help you adjust your comfort level.

you want to look for deep tissue massages. i have also heard that massage people who specialize in sports therapy will do the deep tissue massage. i have never tried it because i have heard that it is really painful but those that do use it swear by it.
