Default Hello there

I would just like to introduce myself, I know a few of you from another forum... but for those of you who don't know i'll dispense with the usual type intro.

I am currently studying Matayoshi Zen Okinawan Kobudo, Okinawan weapons training is very fulfilling, but I am going to start taking empty hand at the dojo too. The style that my dojo teaches is Yamashita-ha Shorin Ryu in the style of Kobayashi.

In the past I have studied Japanese Ju-Jitsu, a few different styles of karate that didn't really agree with me and Muay Thai. I dabbled in capoeira, savate, taekwondo and boxing.

I have studied Yagyu Shinkage Ryu and I am currently studying Jigen Ryu as defined by Sid Campbell, but I am pretty sure that I will be a Toyama Ryu student very soon.

Glad to be here, hope I am a productive member of the forum once I get into the habit of checking it every morning, lol.

Nice to see you again Sir Darling

I didn't know that about your training so was glad to learn some more about you.
Sounds a very interesting mix of styles; would like to know some more about Savate, French isn't it?

Wow, thats a lot of great training, I wish I could expand my training more. Have you moved around a lot or why so many changes in styles and schools.

Hi, I too need to check in more often.

I haven't moved around too much, just know in my heart what my fighting style is about. And if something hasn't matched with what I feel I need to be learning, I moved on. My ju-jitsu training was a little bit of providence... a friend of mine at work taught me, he was a 3rd degree black belt trained on the airforce base on okinawa, then they moved back to the states.
After I have progressed in Shorin Ryu for a while I am planning on going back to ju-jitsu.
