I am interested in martial arts that rely less on brute strength and more on techniques better suited to my aging body. One Korean martial art that meets this criteria is HapKiDo.
Whereas all Korean servicemen are trained in taekwondo, only those in the Special Forces are then tought HapKiDo. HapKiDo roughly translates to "The way of co-ordinated power" and it makes sense when you discover that the artform relies on body motion, joint locking, pressure point attacks and throwing techniques above all else. This makes it well suited as a method for self defense for women as well as people 30 years of age or more. |

as time goes on i become more interested in hapkido. i need to make up my mind and decide what to study next. i just want to learn as much as possible before making my decision, but hapkido really fascinates me, and the more i think about it, the more i am leaning towards it
