Default Bruce Lee in UFC?

suppose in a hypothetical situation, in some other world, we could bring back bruce lee, in his prime, to this time and make him be a UFC fighter. how good do you think he'd be?

how much grappling did he do? i did not think he did much, so that would put him at a disadvantage...... but i don't think he would have anything to do with the UFC

he's learned wrestling and judo and others i think. he studied all sorts of different ways to fight.

and again, this is a hypothetical situation. suppose that he is alive today in his prime... and suppose somehow he became a UFC fighter... lol

yeah, i know he learnt them.... but i do not know how much he focused on them. most his stuff seems to concentrate on stand up. he is pre-gracie, and back then your ground game was often over looked.

yea but considering bruce lee and his philosophies, i think he'd definitely learn everything he needs to. absorb what is useful and disregard what is useless.

but if he were to still fight like he did back then, today... well first they'd have to get bruce lee to the ground to be able to have an advantage. him being amazingly quick and powerful that would be very difficult. second, he knew some grappling techniques which would still help him.

yeah, but what i am saying is that i do not think he realized how important it is. i think you might be overlooking how big of a contribution the gracie's made to MA. they revolutionized MAs. i would say that that was the next big revolution after Bruce Lee. because he was not around to appreciate it, i think that he would be at a disadvantage compared to present MAist.

no no u misunderstand me. i meant if he were somehow brought to this time, he'd recognize the usefulness of styles like BJJ in a situation such as UFC fights, and were he to fight in UFC for some reason, he would definitely learn as much as he would need to because of his philosophies.

I agree with eYoon. The biggest reason, I believe, that Bruce Lee mostly disregarded UFC-style grappling is that it has little practicality outside of a UFC ring. If he knew he would be forced to perform in a UFC match (I agree that he wouldn't have anything to do with it, but we'll speak hypothetically), he would learn what he needed... or... he'd school the UFC guys by ignoring the rules.
