Hi all… Well, I would like to share this video I found as I was surfing awhile ago. Bytheway, just to make it sure, does anyone here seen the most painful in slow motion video featuring the karate chop and the slap in the face ? The slap in the face video is a bunch of a pain. How I wish I can do that to my beloved man: - p… It must be painful for sure…

First of all, the guy had bad form. Because of what you saw, any knife or sword hand technique should be made with all fingers clustered closely together, supporting and reinforcing each other.
Second of all, I'm guessing that brick was plaster (still kinda impressive) or the stuff they make sheet rock out of. If you watch really closely, a shockwave goes over the surface of the brick when it's hit. Third of all, if I were striking a brick without any protection on my hand, it would be an open-palm strike.

Agreed. As with so many things in the martial arts, I think it's a leftover of a time that you worried about the damage done to your body only if you survived to begin suffering from it.
In other words, surviving the next battle is more important than keeping from having aching hands ten years down the road.
