Default Your Weapon of Choice

Put a couple of your favorite weapons, but then list your Weapon of Choice.

I like simple weapons like the nunchuka or the bo staff, but my weapon of choice is a bladed weapon. It is called a Shang Gou, or hooked sword. They are usually used in pairs, and every part of it is deadly. In the hands of a master, nothing can beat it.

Well, if you look at the picture above, you will notice the obvious curved hooks on the end of each sword this part of the sword it used for capturing the opponents weapon, as well as grabbing the opponent. The blade itself works just like any other sword and is used for medium range fighting. The hand guard is bladed as well as the extension off the handle. This part can be used for very close quarter fighting. The last feature, my favorite, is it's long range capability. You hook one sword to the other by the hooks, and you can swing it around while holding one sword by the handle. The hand guard of the blade you are swinging around becomes the weapon.

This weapon is very versatile, and very dangerous.

Yes. It is one of the more challenging weapons to learn, but they are very fun once you get the hang of it!

Very interesting weapon Militis. I agree, I like basic weapons: Bo staff, chucks, tonfa, but my weapon of choice is sword.

Is there a particular kind of sword, tntma, that you prefer? There are thousands of different swords, ranging from the odd (like the one militis suggested) to the very straightforward (such as the European broadsword).

My favorite weapons are the naginata and the dai-kyu. These are the Japanese halberd and long bow, respectively. Both have a deeper spiritual aspect than many other weapons, and are very graceful, which I prefer over brute force.

Sorry sirdarksol, I should have been more specific. My favorite weapon is the Katana.

Im a sword fan too.... I would say that my preference goes to the Japanese Kiriha Zukurie, I like its strait forward, clean feel... it is simplistic, and elegant. The only problem is,. that you have to get them custom made, because they haven't been used in main stream since the introduction of the Katana. The closest in style would be the Ninja-to.
