Part of me wonders how fast that arrow is going when he cuts it.
What do you think?

I've seen this before. Must've been at the other forum.
The arrows aren't going all that fast, but it's still impressive.

are the arrows slow, or is the camera slowing it down?? i thought it looked slow too, but thought it might just be so we can see what is happening.

The cut looks normal speed to me, but I could be wrong. Perhaps the camera does slow a bit. Not sure.

I think that the bow isn't being drawn fully and then the shots are slowed down by the camera going slow mo in a few of the clips. I have watched it a bunch of times now and i'm still not so sure.

Duh... Sorry guys, I didn't watch the video carefully enough.

No, the archer is not drawing anywhere near the full draw. A kyudo draw goes over and behind the ear. This one was in front of her nose. The arrow would likely have half or less of the kinetic energy (and therefore, speed) of one shot from a full draw.
The slow motion shots, I think, are to show that the sword is actually connecting with the arrow, and that this isn't some sort of trick (other than the slower arrows )

It is still pretty rad that he is cutting sharp arrows being fired at him though.
And you should be sorry as our resident Kyudo disciple that should have been the first thing you noticed, not leaving it to the resident barbarian to find.

Yes it does, don't you read wikipedia?
You should know the definition of disciple given your course of study.
Now i'm really disappointed.

Ah, so you're a disciple of idiocy. Got it.
