The creator has practiced Kendo for just about forty years and has studied with most of the best instructors in The united states. Ken Strawn used to be born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and served in Viet Nam as a Marine Helicopter crew chief and door gunner. He attended Wake Forest University, then moved to California where he worked for computer company Four-Phase Systems. Returning to North Carolina fifteen years later, he became a middle school teacher and coach.
